This stunning L-shaped breakfast bar, recently completed for a client's kitchen, serves as a beautiful example of how natural materials can be integrated into a contemporary space. Crafted from a spectacular slab of characterful oak, this piece is designed to be both a functional dining space and the kitchen's standout feature.

The centrepiece is the wood itself. We selected this particular slab of English oak for its exceptional figuring, swirling grain, and warm, honeyed tones. The natural, flowing live edge was carefully preserved and sanded to a smooth, tactile finish, inviting touch and interaction.

A striking river of black resin flows through the heart of the main slab, complementing the dark features within the oak's grain and tying in perfectly with the kitchen's dark cabinetry. The resin is not just a filler but a core design element, meticulously poured and polished to a glass-like sheen that contrasts beautifully with the satin finish of the wood.
